I plan to actually release my demo I've been doing since 2008

Figured if I put it in writing its one more thing to motivate me to get someone to lay some bass down so I can get it done.

In the meantime have a soundcloud full of random stuff I've done.

    Do it!

For what it's worth, I'm more of a bass player than a guitarist. Would definitely be down to check out what you have so far.

Nice. At the end of 2019 I went through all my old hard drives and decided it was time to release all the unreleased stuff I had over the past decade or so. Once I got going, I got super inspired to write more. I ended up releasing a song a week for 52 weeks, it felt great. Even if no one listens to it, at least it is out in the world and not rotting away on a hard drive

If you're interested, I could introduce you to the bass player in my band. He loves doing collaborations like this. And he is fucking amazing, so that is always nice

I'm the king of not releasing stuff, and even I have to bow to your abilities here. But yeah, I'm in the same mode now too, revisiting all my old demo ideas and trying to flesh them out into at least an EP's worth of proper songs.

              So.... DO IT!!

Just to hammer this nail in further motivation wise.

This is what I'm working on currently with ezbass in all its glory.

Shit, I thought us two Drew’s were the reigning kings of not releasing music!

                  Get on it, man!

Recording bass has been the biggest challenge for me as well. I bought a new bass just because of it but that only brought more problems. Not until the last two weeks did I finally sort it out and basically, a 35” bass with the right gauge strings is what needed to happen. I was using a Peavey Millennium (35”) my old bass player gifted to me but hated the way it sounded in the lower register. Then I bought a 5-string Warwick (34”) because it sounded phenomenal in the store, bring it home and start tracking and realize there’s zero tone coming from the low E (C) string, just a boomy, useless note. Rest of the strings are nice and bright, lot of punch, but not that 4th string. I’ve gone through about 10 packs of bass strings in the last year trying to figure out the perfect gauge. Lighter strings on both did the trick, but I have to keep the Warwick in standard because that one less inch doesn’t allow for good tension/tone on it.

                  Good luck and enjoy!
