Recommend me a basic USB interface w/MIDI

In my new Jam Room Of Doom, I have a ~2018ish Macbook Pro that I plan to use for drums. It's just going to run EZD/Superior, so I can pull MIDI in from my drum head and send Toontrack kits out to my mixing board.

What's out there that's under ~250 bucks or so and has MIDI? Something like the Scarlett 2i2, though that doesn't have a MIDI input and I'd prefer no to get another dongle if I can just get something that does it right the first time.

I've been using a Presonus Audiobox USB 96 and I've had zero complaints. My computer is about that old and not overly powered but good enough and it works great with it.

Scarlet 2i4 has MIDI, which is why I bought 4 years ago. Upgraded to an 18i20 only because I needed more inputs to mic up my acoustic drums.

I've got a 2i4 that I'm pretty happy with (I haven't had any other interfaces though, so it might be that I just don't know better!), although as far as I see that particular model is discontinued now. The 3rd gen 4i4 appears to be right around $250 and has one midi input and output.

Been using the Steinberg UR22c Mk2 with no issues.

The behringer interfaces are surprisingly good for the money and will do everything you need. From memory they're about £40 and have super low latency inputs (not that it matters for midi)

MOTU M2 and M4 will also do the trick as well.

Can't go wrong with the Scarlett. The PC interface is a little annoying, at least to me.

What kind of plebe uses a PC these days? Is it 1997?

What kind of plebe uses USB these days? If it can't be Thunderbolt, Firewire is the way to go.

This showed up today and was plug/play simple. Thanks dude.

Now I just need the damn pandemic to end so I can have drummers over to record with it.
