Which... is clearly what Fender is trying to do with this abomination. Godin has been making this type of instrument since the early 90's I think.
The A6 Ultra continues with the innovative concepts found in all Godin A-series guitars, such as combining amazing plugged-in acoustic sound with the feel of an electric neck, along with a chambered body design that virtually eliminates feedback in live & loud settings. These features stand true and better than ever in the A6 Ultra

Joking aside, I could see a market for them (thinline acoustic having been a thing for quite a while, after all), especially with a gun for hire going out on a tour where they need to cover some acoustic parts. The Strat and Tele versions have obviously done well enough that Fender feels they can roll out the new shape and con enough people into buying them to complete the set

What's weird about this to me is I've seen both a BC Rich Mockingbird Acoustic and a Gibson V Acoustic in the last 2 weeks come across my buy feeds... Someone, somewhere seems to think metalheads need more unplugged guitar in our lives.Don't expect much, it's not like I'm a Rocket Surgeon...

Only the Schenker brothers can (just barely) pull off the acoustic Flying Vs, and even then it looks silly.

Kinda felt like I need an acoustic for awhile now, but just don't like the big fat bodied ones. And, I have a buddy that has several $3-4000 ones so the run of the mill $200 acoustic sounds like junk compared to his, which shuts down my buying desire.
That said, parlours, auditoriums and grand auditorium models may be right up your alley and you can find a decent one for not a lot of cash too.

Maybe they will have a squire version at some point - I would give that a go but I have a feeling the next version of this will be like a P bass with a high MSRP ...O K T H E N

Ola's is the only one of those I watched, but I've had 3 of those in my YouTube feed (including Ola's). I like how he's basically like "Why did they send me this?" and like "Would I recommend it for metal? Well, no." (while, of course, saying that it's a perfectly good guitar for what it can do 'n' all that).
It looks like a fine guitar, but totally not the kind of thing I would ever buy.
