    NGD: ANOTHER ESP/LTD

I recently decided to start looking for a new guitar.

Well GAS got the better of me once again! I had been getting that antsy feeling again and started looking at guitar offerings.

I started looking for a high end import, something with a hardtail (preferably a hipshot) and not a Tune-o-matic. All my guitars have Floyd Rose's and I never use them. I also really wanted something with locking tuners and I was really interested in the Fishmans.

I decided on the LTD M-1000HT in their "Black Fade" finish. Just like desert dweller in this thread https://www.metalmusicians.org/forum...07-ngd-esp-ltd . I've never had an LTD so I was very interested in trying one.

I got the guitar tonight. I'm very happy with the quality so far. No blemishes or flaws that I can find. Wow I love the neck on this guitar. It has a really smooth unfinished maple neck. It feels like its carved out of stone. Fretwork is all very nice. And I also wasn't sure about the poplar burl top, but I do like this top and am happy with it.

This is mean to be my main gigging guitar. Something stable and reliable. In the next week I plan on setting it up in C Std.

Don't expect much, it's not like I'm a Rocket Surgeon...

I didn't realize they were putting maple necks on these, that's awesome.

That's one of the better looking poplar tops I've seen. Nice score!

So far I've only been able to play it through a DAW and so far I like them. I haven't been able to play through my rig yet so we will see. I should be able to make it to the practice space later this week. Might sneak by today if I have time

Yeah it almost looks like a figured maple top instead of burl. I'm digging it!

Congrats on a great guitar! I love the top on yours. How are you taking to the fluence pickups? I'm surprised the clean sounds so good on them.

Careful, guys. Don't call it an ESP or ESP/LTD, Chris will get mad.

To be honest I haven't even tried playing anything clean yet . I'm liking everything about this guitar. I took a chance in that I've never played anything with a hipshot bridge before, but I am very happy and it's very comfortable to play. I'm trying to get used to the volume knob position, I normally move the volume knob as far away from my picking hand as possible but I'm making it work. Very fun guitar to play and I've been playing it a lot.

Hipshots are awesome! I have guitars with them and they're great for tuning stability, looks, feel, etc.
