NGD - PRS SE Custom 22

Well the writing on the wall was kinda there wasn't it?

My "Big" birthday is coming in a couple of weeks and I wanted to spoil myself a bit. Had decided to get something I never had before and I wanted it to be "Old School and Classy looking". It was also something I was wondering about for some time and 3 days ago saw it on the "Local" Classifieds. Today with the help of a friend that was super kind to give me a ride back and forth of around 4 hours I got this:

    - PRS SE Custom 22 Vintage Sunburst

Outside pics make it look more reddish than it actually is. The Indoor pics they look more like the real colour:

A Big thank you to all of those that commented on the PRS Thread during the past week or so, even though I had almost settled on it some time before I wasn't really expecting to be able to get one so soon. Sometimes the Starts seem to Align

Nice score! SE’s are excellent quality at their pricepoint, especially if you want a “jack of all trades” kind of guitar.

Looks great! Congratulations! Man they look so good with the arched top. I remember when they said that the SEs would never have those.

I'm so busy lately with friends staying for 2 weeks and had such a crazy weekend buying new furniture at IKEA that is super far from me that I didn't even had the time to plug it in

Saturday since I was in Bordeaux to go IKEA I decided to go check guitars at a nice small shop they have in the center. I went there to mostly check the LTDs I knew they had but then I spotted a PRS in back., I asked if I could had it in my hands and the owner told sure, its mine and its was a Custom Order, Super light and Neck was fat... so I asked what Neck profile it had. He didn't remember so he went check the order papers (super nice dude really) and he show me a Wide Fat neck.

I have to say this SE is not as light but pretty light and the Neck is to me much more to my preferences. Wide Thin and it´s very noticeable comparing to the other guy WF one. Fretwork is really really good and the brief time I had it unplugged it just felt really comfortable and balanced.

I can only really go play it properly after Wednesday. Needs a proper fretboard cleaning and of course shinny new strings. For now I will leave everything as it is since I want to have the full experience with the factory specks, previous owner replaced the Strap Pins for Schaller ones but gave me the originals too.

Visually I have to say I´m in love with it, its on display already in my Appt

SE? As in "I hope nobody SE's me playing this impoverished plank of imported rubbish"?

They’ve been putting some really nice veneers on those in recent years, and finishing them really well. I love the PRS Wide Fat neck carve. Congrats!

                                      Thanks guys.

Finally today I had the time to seat down alone and play with it for 1 hour or so. I'm loving it! Feels super comfortable, sustain is great. I'm for now a Fan of it. Might not be my last PRS

The pickups have a certain sound I am not used to. I know this will sound like Blasphemy to some, but I managed to get this cool looking Brushed Chrome EMGs 57/66 set that most certain will go it

The SE pickups are, well, OK. Nothing wrong with them, but if the 57/66 pair is better for you, well, that's the best sounding EMG set, IMO.

That looks awesome - now that they're contouring the top a little and not sticking a giant SE on the headstock in place of the PRS signature, well... that's a legitimately classy guitar.
