I really never actually have a want for brand new guitars that much, but this year, well, i've got an RG565 genesis in orange I'm waiting for, and then this appeared on the axe palace limited runs:



Mahogony/maple, ebony board and a reverse headstock? Bar not being neckthrough and possibly ash, this literally ticks all the boxes.

So Yeah. A fool and his money are hence easily parted... paid the deposit within a few hours...

Yeah, i just cracked. It's literally like the CST wood wise and fretboard wise. Might get neck reshaped, but we'll see. I hadn't realised it had SS frets at all, which makes it more awesome. But just ebony with reversed headstock, man, just such a killer spec. And the colour too, love it. If that comes out like the purple neckthrough they did back in early 2000s that'll be a sick colour. I'll flip the pickups out, but other than that, it's great looking.

Also, congrats on having exquisite taste!

Congrats to you as well good sir. I assume you also ordered the 7? The ebony board and reverse headstock alone sold me. JJ actually pointed out the SS frets and locking tuners after I had already made my deposit. Given the current pricing of things this seems to be absurdly well spec'd.

I hope I can get on with the neck profile. It has been a long time since I have even played an Ibanez and from what I have read the Super Wizard HP is very thin. I know that I much prefer the feel of the neck on my soloist to JJ's KXK which is on the thicker side (Old Schecter profile I believe)
so I think I should be ok.

As much as I want a 7 right now I know I'll only play it like 2-3 times a year. I think I'll have to keep an eye out for a sensibly priced RG7620 (does that still happen? ).

Can't be building too many, part of the fun is having something rare! I just had to, as I love the sound of my CST, but could never play it out. The JCustom 7 that was like the CST was ace, but sold that after it gave me a back spasm (neck too thick I think) during a rehearsal...

This literally has the woods, the ebony blank fretboard, as an added (and awesome as fuck) bonus a reverse headstock. Pretty much perfect spec if you ask me.
