This was my first time visiting there. Little did I know this would be an Adventure worth telling more than likely forever.
So, myself, one of my best friend's and his wife made a trip to Nashville for his 30th Birthday.
I bought him a ticket to see "The Dead Daisies" with Doug Aldrich and Glenn Hughes. He's a huge Aldrich fan (I ruined him) as well I am.
He had never seen him, I saw him in 2013 with WHITESNAKE.
We also decided to get check out the cool Vintage Guitar Shops and the newly built "Gibson Garage."
So when we finally get to the "Gibson Garage," while we were listening to the guy talk about the "Made to Measure Custom Shop," I see J.C. (CEO of Gibson). Coming towards the door to walk in. He is super nice and says, "Hello" to everyone. I shake his hand and say, 'I really appreciate what you are doing for Gibson, etc." He said, "Thank you" and we all kept talking for a bit. And before you knew it, after I had talk to him for a little bit, he decided to take use into the "Backstage Room" where artists meet, etc. They apparently just finished a meeting with Skid Row. We walk back there and it's super rad with all these Custom Shop Gibsons in there.
Before you know it, I see this man open a giant "Vault" and one of every Historic Electric Gibson in this vault.
There was a 1959 Gibson Les Paul, 1957 Gibson Goldtop, 1950's Gibson Les Paul Black Beauty as well as a 1960's Gibson Flying V in perfect condition.
So he's going on saying, "These guitars aren't just here to look at. They are meant to be played." *Cracks Open the 1959 Gibson Les Paul Standard Case* *Looks at Me*
He says, "Here you go. Play it! But don't drop it."
And I was SHOCKED. It felt great, not too big of a neck and the worn feel just made it feel like butter in some ways. I played some of my riffs, "Still of the Night" and some shred bits. It was unbelievable really. I thought it was so cool. Everyone seemed in a bit of shock over the whole thing really.
J.C. was super kind with his time and happy to answer any question someone asked. Left a wonderful impression really and seemed open to hear anything you had to say.
Also there was every Boogie on earth to play if you wanted too.
And then that night, we saw "The Dead Daisies" and Glenn Hughes was just UNREAL. He was hitting every high note like it was nothing. My heart about sank when they started to play "Mistreated" and "Burn." It was magical. And Doug was amazing as always.
That night as they were being rushed out to their van to go to the Hotel. I saw Doug right before he went on, he caught sight of my 92' Goldtop and came over to sign not only that but friend's Gibson LP Standard and we were giddy as all get it out. It was an amazing trip. I can't thank God enough for the memories I'll forever cherish in my heart and I can't wait to go back! I have more pics and stories. But bare with me.

He could barely see mine in the dark so it's a little scribbled. But no biggie!
