I'd also be interested in making/buying a midi controller potentiometer kit that could for instance replace your tone knob (which i never really use) and allow you to control parameters on the afx2/other midi devices. That would be killer, briefly looked into yesterday and seems possible to go the diy route

Their site is rather vague on how the system works (probably to protect the idea from competition), but it sounds like it sends a slight electrical current down the length of the strings, which changes as you press on a fret.
I'd worry that it might be fragile, too.
