New Body Day?
That sounds weird.
The bridge post in my (admittedly old) sunburst Fender(possibly Squier) body started to lean really badly. I noticed during my yearly string change that one side was almost moving over the pickguard. Opened it up, and the anchor is starting to compress and crack the wood. I don't have access to a drill press, so fixing this would be beyond me atm.
I saved a couple searches on ebay, "Charvel Body" and "Fender Floyd". Was able to pick up a Players(MIM) Fender body for a decent price.
Photos below, I did not get any of the actual process, because I was sweaty and tired, and just

Out comes the dremel to make a 2 3/16" pocket fit a 2 1/4" neck.

Now, I did have some issues, and some pleasant surprises. Issue #1 was the neck pocket, Fender cuts these different than even Warmoth does, with a shorter distance from the screw holes to the neck pickup. I had to do a lot of dremeling to get this thing together. Issue #2 was the rear rout, there wasn't enough clearance on the "strap-pin" side to bottom out the trem, so I had to do some cutting there too.
Surprisingly, the bridge ended up far enough off the body that I can keep my D-tuna. I of course made it down only with the help of a popsicle stick
.
Plays pretty much the same as it did. Sound is maybe a touch warmer? That could be because the bridge pickup is a couple more mm towards the neck?
The old body, plus some other parts I have laying around, will likely become a clock for my upstairs hallway.
