  • LP Style guitars

Yeah yeah old age and all.. and I'm looking more and more at them... but since I'm not a Lawyer/Dentist or old 60's fart or whatever I care less about "True Gibsons"... So what does exist in LP shape that has THIN necks and Belly cuts?

I'm asking because lately I keep seeing LP Style guitars appearing out of nowhere and reviewers praising them. Harley Benton is making what seems like sweet one's with EMGs for 400-500 euros and they get sold out immediately... I know LTD EC series have thinner necks, but what else does it exist out there? I mean not 2K Guitars, cheaper ones

Just looking for a singlecut, or does it have to be a true LP copy? My Edwards Eclipse was like a grand and is fantastic. I like it a shitload better than the LP I got recently for twice the price.

Just single cuts, I care less about LP's to be honest. But they are knonw as LPs for eternity even if they are PRS's

If you want a thin shredder neck on a LP-style guitar, then some variety of ESP/LTD Eclipse is probably your best bet. They really don't sound much like an actual LP, but perhaps that's beside the point. The Jackson Monarkh Pro is another possibility, but those sound and play essentially like a singlecut Soloist.

Maybe consider one of the Agile LPs. I'm pretty sure they have at least one model with a thinner neck...and the prices are excellent.

I'm the same way. If you don't like the fact that LPs are needlessly heavy, expensive and don't sound nearly as good as they cost, just get an Eclipse. Or a used Carvin CS. Sound just as good and look 95% as cool without destroying your back and shoulders.

              I'd check Edwards as well.

Did you saw they video promoting it? I was sadly laughing, everything sounded like shit with an old man babbling.

Yeah I'm going after the shape, being it 100% exact or not. I pretty much prefer comfort to aesthetics. Last year a work colleague lend me for a month his super nice looking and very light red whine Satin looking Epiphone. After 30 minutes you get used to the neck but the lack of Belly cut really upset me. I play seated down and I hunch a lot over the guitar, I cant see near (fuck getting old) so the side dots are mostly a blur mess to me now and I guide myself on the fretboard, that's why I hunch a lot on guitars. Even though it was uncomfortable to me and it stuck in my mind.

I don't want expensive guitars, to me and for what I play an expensive guitar is just a waste of money to be very polite on my skills., I'm ok with cheaper versions as long as they aren't total pieces of crap.

Here's an example of a preorder, but they've otherwise gotten out of the LP business since the last time I checked. They used to have quite a variety of LP-style models.

Thin singlecut with a tummy cut? Ltd EC1000, or 400. ibanez has one too iirc.

As for the joe walsh prs, its the only braz board prs I can get in Canada new. The rest are wood libraries "stuck" stateside (I know theres at least 3 in Ontario).

Oh, I know Agile has been doing single cuts. Even played some, who were excellent for the asking price. My "Agile?!?" was more of a nod to some of out good ol' posts on the ancient site.

The tummy cut really narrows your choices. I'd be looking at LTD/ESPs.

The ESP (or EII, I know the logo is crap) Eclipse are really good.

I also love my Les Paul, its 9lbs so not crazy heavy.

PRS also make a fantastic guitar. But for what you want and in your price range ESP is the best bet.

The Vintage LP-type guitars (sold mostly in Europe, I believe, though there are US sellers) have a very good reputation, and the one I played was very solid at the price point.

                                Don't get a goddamn Agile.

There are 3 Edwards Eclipse on Reverb right now, all of which I guarantee will kick the piss out of anything Rondo sells.

I initially thought that black one looked too plain, but when I looked more closely at the photos, the black pearloid binding is just enough. Very nice.

It's kind of annoying how there aren't too many trem-equipped singlecuts around. Is it wrong that I kind of want a PRS Tremonti?
