  • Burton Bell: Linkin Park’s Hybrid Theory was Fear Factory “for kids”

“Linkin Park did a watered-down version of Demanufacture,” says ex-Fear Factory singer Burton C Bell of his former band’s influence
Also implies their old producer stole their demos and turned it into a Korn album

Let me paraphrase: "I am talking some shit about some other band to draw attention to my new album release."

Baaaahahahahahahhaha....because it had distorted guitars and electronic shit? Come on....

As for the stolen demo thing, that's not entirely untrue. They started working with Ross Robinson for their first album, Concrete. I can't remember all the details, but I think the gist was that the band didn't like the sound of the demo and didn't want to release it. There was a lawsuit and Robsinon won rights to the album, while the band retained rights to the songs, basically allowing Robinson to use it as his business card, which is supposedly how he got the Korn gig. Then Dino bitched about Korn stealing his riff, it's the main riff of Korn's "Blind", supposedly ripped from Fear Factory's "Scapegoat". Last time Dino was on Jasta's podcast, if I remember right, he blew it off as "Well, there's million riffs that sound the same", but he was fairly bent out about it in 2015.

It's certainly similar, but worth bitching about? I dunno.

This just in: Irrelevant has-been who was C-List at best for the majority of his career says inflammatory thing about dead popular guy in order to get press for his band. Tune in next week for next shocker when Dino Cazares endorses Neural!

Even though Dino isn't the dickhead this time, I'd like to point out that their bass player ended up doing as good a job or better than him when he moved over to guitar.

Sounds like some salty talk coming from someone who didn't end up on this page, about someone who did...

Are you sure he's pensive enough for that?

And Dream Theater's Alive was Slayer for kids.

                        ...

                        ...

Why does anyone take anything that guy says serious?

Demanufacture will always be in my All Time Top 10, but geeeeeez, really, those dudes know how to make me constantly regret that.

Super weird timing for the guy to be butt hurt about nu metal.

100% this. I literally despise very single member now, apart from Raymond who hasn't created a public spectacle. Although I will also admit that I've had some serious nostalgia for Demanufacture and Soul of a new Machine since Dino's 'Re-launch', mainly presenting as GAS for the classic merch he's pumping out to generate quick cash and a modded JCM800.
