    Gojira - Amazonia

    New tune and video

"Our new song “Amazonia” is available now! Proceeds from the song will benefit The Articulation of Indigenous Peoples of Brazil (APIB) who advocate for environmental and cultural rights of indigenous tribes in the Amazon who have suffered immensely - victims of deforestation, land loss, forced labor, violence, and harassment."

In case anyone is also curious on that sound you are hearing its from an Instrument called Berimbau and its part of Brazilian culture but it's not native (from their Native tribes). Its in fact African.

I won’t ruin it by listening on my iPad. Gojira deserves to be cranked through a proper system.

Doing a better job of being Sepultura than Sepultura ever did...

        There he is, finally.

Not sure if I like the track or not... I preferred the previous track they released.

When it started I was having horrible flashbacks of Roots Bloody Roots but gave it a chance and I dig it.

This may be better than Roots, but that doesn't mean it's good.

Definitely the best of the singles they've released but there's still something missing.

Basically I just want Flying Whales to play in the background whenever I'm about to do something...

I was about to say, based on what I've heard of Sepultura. It seems like Gojira is doing what Sepultura wanted to do but couldn't with production back in the day.

I love this track. It's weird and tribal. I like it much better than the single yesterday.

I love it, and also Another World. They don't punch like Heaviest Matter, but I don't feel like they need to, because Heaviest Matter still exists, and is there if you want that

I think it's pretty cool, and the tone is massive. Also, drums = godly.

This band is TOP. Even if the tune is not to my liking, no one can deny these guys can freaking perform. I eager to see them Live again

First time I saw them they were playing the "parking lot stage" at a festival outside. It was cool.

Then I saw them in a proper theater with Mastodon. It was religious.

Of the three new songs, this is my least favorite so far. Like said above it sounds like they're doing a Soulfly Directors Cut or something. Definitely a good song, but doesn't get me 'banging like Born For One Thing, hasn't gotten stuck in my head like Another World and isn't even in the same league as Flying Whales or Only Pain or Heaviest Matter In The Universe. Oh well, they can't all be hits I guess.
Don't expect much, it's not like I'm a Rocket Surgeon...

This one's my favorite of the three so far. Goddamn these songs sound so good. The drums sound like real drums and it's not smashed to shit. I love that they're using not-so-typical metal guitar tones and still sounding fucking huge. Can't wait for the rest of this album!

They had to know there was going to be comparisons to Sepultura. Glad it changed up after the intro, that beginning felt very Roots-ish. Not the best song but im still looking forward to the album.

I'm getting the feeling this is why they went to Andy Wallace for the mix (who also did Chaos AD alongside a lot of very big rock records in the 90's). I'm not yet sure if it's worked but, as you say, good to see a band aiming for something new/unique.

Andy's one of my favorite mixers, there isn't a mix he's done that I don't dig....even if I can't stand the band or album itself. Faith No More used him on King For A Day and he's just done a shitload of albums I dig with my favorite one being A Perfect Circle's 13th Step. He's got quite the list of credits and some major albums- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andy_Wallace_(producer)

If I were to have anyone to chose from mix my album, he'd probably be in the top 3.
