Normally I like this guy, but...

... I think he's literally missed the mark completely here. Not a single good guitar tone in the whole video, everything is mediocre at best, and in some instances literally borderline terrible... On the flipside, it's quelled my get a 60s/70s plexi gas for a while...

His low E (downtuned to whatever) sounds just slightly out of tune to me - not sure if I'm hallucinating. I didn't like any of the tones either - perhaps they would work in a mix (who knows), but then it would make more sense to compare them in a mix...

Didn't have time to watch the whole thing, but damn those were some shit tones he was getting.

Is anyone really going to spend the $$$$ for a working vintage Plexi and then try to do djent with it? It's not the right tool for the job.

Not great in isolation but I could see some of those tones working as part of a multi-amp guitar tone in a big mix.

Damn, I normally dig the tones he comes up with as well, but I fast forwarded to around 8:30 and heard what sounded like the first POD. That’s enough of that.

No idea who this guy is, but since everything I flipped to in this video sounded like shit I won't waste any more time on him.

So normally he does really good videos on speakers and a few other things, so I was really suprised on this one, as I've liked a lot of other things he has done. But this, this was terrible...

like this bass tone video, is really good for instance

I feel like he's doing something wrong. I haven't watched the video but Plexis are the base for awesome hot rod Marshalls the world over, throw a boost in front of one, crank it up and let the glorious tones rip.

Yeah.... he's using distortion pedals, NOT boosts (with the exception when he ran a TS in front of a distortion pedal). Some of those pedals, (the Revv one for sure) are more meant as preamps to be run into the effects return of an amp. He's doing it wrong

If I had more time and skills, I’d devote most of it to making deepfakes of all the YouTubers, replacing their faces with Nic Cage.

This one had me in hysterics last night-
