This detuned live Holy Wars rendition... (Vic & the Rattleheads)

Vocally, not Dave's best day. But musically? Yup.

Dirk from Soilwork on drums here too. What a rad performance all around.

I always loved the contrast is solo styles on Hanger 18, Martys parts are exotic and Daves are old school, the two together is great. Kiko really does it well too.

This rules! So much more energy in Dirk's drumming than Shawn Drover's too. Kiko also plays Marty's parts really well - Broderick was great, but I think Kiko's playing nails the feel better.

Agreed, Dirk and Kiko are such a good fit for the band, they finally found members who can handle the parts with ease but have their own flair and energy too. Everyone they've had since the classic line-up has either been not fully capable or a technical robot.

The whole set is on YT, I guess this was a one-off. I love the live sound here, it's like seeing 'Deth at your local pub crawl. Really great stuff.

This one is cool, but I like original version more

I agree with people who say Shown Drover was boring, Chris Broderick was great but felt bit robotic his playing.

Kiko and Dirk fits better than them two.

                    Mustaine is still the best!

If Dave wasn't the Ozzy Osbourne of thrash, this would be perfect. But the mumble mouth singing drives me nuts.

Eh, I give him a pass here. Dude is almost 60 and playing outrageously complicated thrash while singing oddly timed lyrics. It's not like he's Ozzy wandering around the stage screaming autotuned I LOVE YEW. Not a fair comparison IMO.

You say that like it was any different when he was 26.

At 26 he was still a ferocious guitar player, though. Say what you will about his singing, Dave has chops. Ozzy just runs around and claps.

Ozzy was always shit, he just had the luxury of stellar musicians and song-writers to make him look good. Mustaine's vocals have always been a bit dodgy but undoubtedly he is responsible for all the greatness of Megadeth.

I think I saw a few AxeFx IIIs in that rack too, which makes way more sense than toting amp rigs around.

Oh, this has nothing to do with his guitar playing. The guy is a beast and one of the best metal riff writers ever. But, if you're gonna do both, then don't mumble mouth it.

Yeah, Ozzy is famous because he got some good musicians, and guitar players specifically. The guy would probably have been in a puddle of his own drool otherwise.

Mustaine never claimed to be a singer, even tho he is not best singer I cant imagine megadeth without his singing.

                                      Dave still kicks azz

Dave looks like he's in pain singing here. I think he was sick or has something going on with his vocal cords. Maybe he just sounds like that at the end of sets these days, I dunno.

                                        Great live performance.

I guess the throat cancer he had might have affected his voice - although I don't think he ever really sounded that great live.

I don't care if the vocals are lousy, this show is fantastic. Dave's a legend and half the vocalists of his era have already packed it in. If this is the best he can sing these days I'm not going to hate on him for it.

The audio is like seeing 'Deth at a pub crawl or something. Awesome. Kiko sounds fantastic too, great fit for the band and puts his own stamp on the songs without sounding like Marty karaoke.

He is a 58 year old man Who spent his entire life singing and playing guitar at the same time in a band.. Retaught himself to play guitar after an injury, and still to this day creates new relevant music after doing it for decades. Give the guy a break. He put in his work. Let him go peacefully
