Plus losing his other best friend, Paul O' Neill. Being stuck at home in a pandemic, no telling how much it has taken a toll on his mental-health.
I can't give my source away... I want to respect Jon's privacy and life.
But I can tell you all he is doing ok.
Praying for this man.

I dont feel any remorse toward drink drivers, no matter the excuse. You can call taxi, uber, ask for lift from friend/ family or fricking walk.
I like Savatage but it dose not change how I feel about drunk driving.
I hope he gets help he needs.Last edited by Megametal7; 10-04-2021, 02:26 PM.

Other than the obvious drinking and driving thing........he was caught with blow? The dude is 61 years old and very large, which already puts a strain on his heart. He also had a stroke a few years ago, has diabetes, and hes doing blow? If he hasn't been diagnosed with congestive heart failure by now than he will soon.

My ex-wife’s twin uncles were killed by a drunk driver about 20 years ago, it devastated the family, obviously, to the point that whenever they’re names are mentioned, the majority of the family will still tear up and get quiet. It hit my ex very hard as she was really close to them and for 13 years, she was adamantly against drunk driving. When things started going downhill in our marriage, she started coming home from hanging out with friends just bombed. That was the first sign that I knew things were going wrong.
Ya never really know what the dude’s issues are. Myself and several of my friends will occasionally partake in certain party favors and not touch them again for months/years, it’s purely a situational thing. Not everyone who uses hard drugs is an addict. I know nothing about this dude’s past, so I dunno if drugs and booze have been a consistent issue for him or not. Regardless, he fucked up and hopefully this is enough of a wake-up call to look into why he’s making the decisions he’s making and he can move past it. If his health is already in shit condition, he’s certainly not doing himself any favors. The Karmic Law is not kismet. It is not fate but cause and effect. It is a taskmaster to the unwise; a servant to the wise.

If quitting and getting better was just a matter of making a rational decision, there wouldn't be any junkies anywhere. I'm sure Jon knows full well that he's effing up and killing himself slowly (or maybe not so slowly), but addiction doesn't work like that.
Let's just hope he can turn the corner.

I mean, i sort of get it if you're in you're 40s and you're hanging out with some buds you have not seen in forever and someone starts cutting lines but being morbidly obese and 61 years old?
My only reason for saying what I did is that when people tend to get busted with drugs, the automatic assumption is that they're an addict. Clearly this isn't his first run around the park with these issues, that's unfortunate and I hope the dude sees a different path. It would suck to spend your last decade or so on this earth living in that kind of hell.

This, along with Mike's post, yeah, fully agreed, this dude has some issues he's got to work through.

I'm just saying is it those events, the driving force that keeps him turning back to these vices, you know?
If so, how do you overcome those addictions and pain?
Truth be told, I've never been drunk. I've never done drugs. So I have no experience in being addicted and overcoming such things.
I just hope that he gets the help he needs to not make these decisions that have deadly consequences.

Also, the sadness of Ray Gillen being involved...
