I feel like I'm too old and curmudgeonly these days to enjoy this. I'm sure hardcore KK fans will dig it, but 9 minutes of mediocre songwriting on top of the comically terrible lyrics mailed in by Ripper just aren't for me.

Just moving the vocal parts a few milliseconds in the DAW would solve the issue in a couple of seconds

Thats another problem I find with this song.

Ripper is a great singer, but he could have gone for a softer voice in the calm part.
He goes with the same MEGA METAL shrieking voice as he does during the METAL parts in the song, which just in MY opinion, sounds out of place when the song went over to a calm part.

I listened to this album on my way to visit family this weekend. It was a snoozfest. Then I put on Firepower and my fucking god is that so much better.

Ripper is a great singer

Ripper is technically fine for the style singer he is. He has NO idea how to write a vocal part that makes impact. The only time I've ever liked him was brief parts of his time in Iced Earth, when Schaffer was standing behind him telling him what to do.

honestly lmao. some sessions i have to really fight the urge to just say, "fuck it", and clean it up when they leave so i can move on with my life. i came very, very close to retracking everything in a somewhat recent session, but i fought the temptation and made them play better.
