It's a pretty cool song. It still has faint hints of the Mercenary from the 90s and 2000s, which makes sense, I guess, since the only members still in the band from 11 Dreams (the 2004 album with Firesoul on it) are the two guitarists. Kral (the bassist/singer) quit in 2006 and Mikkel (the power metal/opera-esque singer) quit in 2009.

I'm pretty much in the no Kral, no care camp, but this isn't bad at all. Kinda Evergrey-ish in the verses.

The new stuff isn't too bad but yeah compared to the more Operatic/Epic heavy power metal they kinda went a more typical melo-death route and I haven't really gotten into the newer albums since Rene took over vocals and bass duties. It's a shame Kral never seemed to get Firesoul off the ground, probably cuz the guy went a little nutters. From some of the fragmented Facebook posts I saw he was rambling about some weird anti-vax rhetoric and I doubt he'll be able to get the personnel that he wanted for the songs he was able to write (at one point I think he had both of the Sandager brothers and Jacob Hansen which would have been pretty great if it worked out).
