Nergal: Polish metal singer accused of blasphemy

It's a tricky situation in Poland, there is a huge difference between the large number of rural Poles who hold very traditional values vs those who live in the larger cities. But even so, these values don't necessarily fit neatly into the 'Left vs Right' divide as we know it due to the history of the country. There is a feeling that Poland was 'Liberated' from Facism, only to be abandoned by the West to it's fate under Communist rule. More than one generation still voting have direct experience of what living under Communism is really like (not the modern social media idea of Communism) and the evils of the left.
Put that together with a very strong Catholic Church who permeate the power structure fully and the current political party, who have figured out that 'Family values' is a successful position for a Westernish nation that's not fully corporatised and prosperous yet, and you're not going to see the kind of change that Nergal is pushing for any time soon (as much as I agree in principal, despite him being a massive bell-end).
It's only been 32 years since the Iron Curtain fell, the inevitable lurch away from Communism and then self-correction is still a way off, especially with the church being so heavily entrenched.
Tl;dr It's a nation in flux that has been through incredible changes, expecting them to be inline with fully Western ideals is unrealistic, currently.Last edited by Lozek; 03-01-2021, 01:57 PM.

Classic edgelord Nergal.
It's important to remember that there are no self identified "members" of "antifa".
So what the right wing does is they just find someone who is hypocritical on the mainstream celebrity twitter left, determine they are definitely a "member" of "Antifa", and then theatrically say "the members of antifa are full of shit".
So the real paradox Nergal should be addressing here is are the members of antifa really full of shit? Or did the right wing just go out and find people who disagreed with them who also happened to be kind of full of shit and determine that they are "definitely a member of antifa" and leave out the bit that the "members of antifa" are a group of people who happened to be full of shit on some issues they went out and cherry picked to push their own agenda?
Does being a member of Anti Fa make you full of shit? Or did the right wing just go out and purposefully pick people who were kind of full of shit on other issues that disagreed with them and said, "Yep, this is definitely an organization called Antifa".
You can say any demographic is full of shit if you are the one in charge of determining who is part of that demographic and you purposefully go out and pick people who are hypocrites.
I could just point to some random dude on the street and be like, "LOOK AT THIS MEMBER OF BEHEMOTH, THE MEMBERS OF BEHEMOTH ARE FULL OF SHIT" and Nergal would probably be like, "that's not a member of behemoth tho, u just picked some1 who wuz full of shit and called them a member of behemoth". To which I would respond, "Wow Nergal, you are finally starting to get it."
