I don't love this. Hoping the rest is less busy.

The long perfectly Lynchian lead around 2:00 is awesome but this clip sounds like everyone is overplaying like mad.

I love me some old-school Lynch, but man, I find him completely unlistenable now. He sounds sloppy and frenetic, his rhythm playing is weak, and his leads sound like he used up all his good note choices 30 years ago. And don’t even get me started on his awful use of the phaser/flanger/univibe effect.

This unfortunately. What the fuck was that?

Bad, bad, bad. And I'm the biggest Lynch fan.

Please don't put Lynch and death in a thread title again. Glancing over it, I almost shit my pants.

It was bad. It sounded like them jamming over a generic toontrack loop.

I'm a Lynch fan too, but the dude is known for being all over the place and having lots of questionable moments. Dude has been a hot mess for at least two decades.

The dudes who are like "Oh yeah, he's a guitar god" but don't mention the fact his career has had a massive amount of ups and downs are the poser fans. It's relatively well known he's not completely sane, kind of a more benign Steven Seagal type.

It's not the most questionable George Lynch moment though.

                    1) The unbeatably hilarious interview with Douche Navarro

                    2) The bizarre couple of years where he talked ESP into making his main signature guitars not the superstrats he is known for, but the ugliest flying V of all time.

                    3) The solid 3-4 years he tried to look like Billy Rae Cyrus, which overlapped with the ugly signature flying V.

The "more benign Steven Seagal" thing isn't a joke either. Shortly after the "George Lynch dresses like a Billy Rae Cyrus doppleganger era" there was his "Elizabeth Warren/Steven Seagal" era. Where he inexplicably thought he was Native American and spent several years making a documentary on the mistreatment of Native Americans that he promptly forgot about and never released. Seriously, he hyped it big and ran a crowd funding campaign for it. This was the span of George Lynch history where he also wore nearly blackface/Donald Trump levels of spray tan to bolster his Native American credibility.

The documentary was called, in true Steven Seagal fashion, "SHADOWTRAIN: UNDER A CROOKED SKY".

                      This is the "OFFICIAL TRAILER".

A large part of being a George Lynch fan is knowing to sweep the more questionably insane "down" moments from his large career of ups and downs under the rug and forget about them.

Not to mention his whole hyper-buff “guitar dojo” period.

"Native Americans definitely have frosted tips, it's a traditional Native American hairstyle, ever heard of the NSYNC tribe of the eastern plains?"

I fucking adore George Lynch, and I can't stand a lot of other guys in roughly the same vein as him (Nuno, Ritchie Kotzen).

That being said, the dude has been trying to reinvent himself in ways nobody asked for for the past 20 years+, most of the hardcore fans at this point know that there is no point in pretending something is good just because it is George Lynch's. Case in point....

Because one bizarrely bad signature model during a "reinvention of George Lynch" phase was not enough, behold the ESP BARITONE WALLET CHAIN GEORGE LYNCH MODEL. The most "awkward early 2000s inexplicably actually produced in the late 2000s" guitar to ever exist, the guitar equivalent of JNCO jeans.

I actually liked the utterly tasteless skull he had on there better than the horn the soup-up guys fitted.

The best is how his eyes light up when they say like "Super secret desert shaman hoodoo horn".

Pretty deep dive into George's current tone (and used on this upcoming album) by the man himself:

I feel like George's tone is great when someone other than George produces it. Usually when he's left on his own it's a hot mess, like that shit at 10:00.
