I'll start off with a cover I did not too long ago. Did this as part of a challenge to learn a track in an evening, turned out fairly decently other than having to compete with the guitarist and his 'can of bees' tone turned up way too bloody high in the mix. Solution? Teh sc00pd midzlmao!!11

Ironically enough, it wasn't even to do with that. Though I do I wholeheartedly appreciate the hospitable welcome nonetheless.

The whole Mahler thing is the brand name for the guitars, amps and pedals I want to make. The name was inspired by the 'Häagen-Dazs' school of branding by coming up with something that sounds mildly exotic despite having no meaning whatsoever**. 'Mahler' came about when I was using Sibelius (the totally stable notation software) whilst absent mindedly trying to come up with a different brand name to my surname (it would get me sued six ways from Sunday). Considering Sibelius was named after Jean Sibelius, I thought classical (romantic-era) composers would work an utter treat. 'Wagner' sounded great until I dug a bit deeper so I stuck with Mahler of Gustav Mahler fame. Who wouldn't want a brand name from a classical composer that used hammers in his orchestra? Doesn't get much more metal than that, really.

**(if my glitchy memory and urban folklore are concidentally correct on this one, 'Häagen-Dazs' apparently translates loosely as 'outdoor toilet' in Danish. I'll be sure not to order a tub of Cookies&Cream with a shit-eating grin if I'm ever there)

Agreed! Playing music is something human beings do, we should focus less on who's better than who and simply enjoy the art each of us creates. Mahler, you've got that Yngwie/Romeo lead thing down. I need to get better at that exact thing, where you go super fast through the strings while tapping above. That's a difficult technique for me and you NAIL it masterfully.
