Now that's completely out of left field. Certainly didn't see that coming.

Damn. I didn't know Graham could afford that level of talent.

Wow, that is a pretty interesting choice. Jeff is a great player, but doesn't Alcatrazz still have the Yngwie shred sound?

Eh, not really. The first record is the only one that sounds like that. Not that Jeff isn't capable of it.

I had kinda gotten that vibe on the new record, too. But yeah, he is more than capable. I just never thought of him when I thought Alcatrazz. I'm listening again, and I might be crazy. Its been a few months since I have spun this one.

That's cool I guess. Although for a long time I've been hoping for Jeff to start a new awesome band again, instead of just being a hired gun; I bet it'll be paying the bills though.

Does this mean Loomis WON'T be the new bass player in Megadeth?

I thought that was Julio Jones?

This isn't as far off as some may think, Jeff has been a huge Yngwie fan since he was a kid and has a bunch of vids out doing the neoclassical thing on a strat. Probly just as much something fun to do, as make a few bucks.

Dave couldn't afford a second and a fourth.

Loomis is a really good fit IMO. I don't know if I've ever seen him play any Malmsteen stuff but he does Jason Becker note for note.

                        Those were pretty good.

I've never been much of an Arch Enemy fan, is he basically just someone to do solos? Does it sound exactly like old Arch Enemy, just with Jeff?

Yeah, pretty much. He doesn't write. Shame really.

I saw Alcatrazz in concert probably about a decade ago, and I was shocked at how good Graham's voice still sounded. I mean, that doesn't sound like the kind of singing technique that lasts into old age, but there you go. I always liked Graham's songwriting, and it'll be interesting to see what he and Jeff come up with.

Wonder why he didnt use his scalloped board strat on those.

he said all of the solos he plays he stole off of yngwie.
