I was a big fan of Todd being in QR because he could really nail the older QR stuff but just recently I saw him make some comments about how newer QR is way better the old QR and I really lost any faith I had in him. Dudes a great singer but Tate in his prime and also Operation Mindcrime... sorry Todd.

Todd La Torre, who joined QUEENSRŸCHE in 2012 as the replacement for original vocalist Geoff Tate, spoke to BigMusicGeek.com about the fact that some fans continue to be reluctant to embrace him as a full-fledged member of the band. "I still get [resistance from some of them]," he admitted. "People...

There was a period around the last album Ryche put out that I dug it more than any other Ryche record at that point. Then a year passed and I haven’t listened to it since and Promised Land and RFO or still my favorites.
The spark that made Ryche Ryche is long gone. Promised Land was playing over the end credits, we just didn’t know it at the time.
FWIW, as amazing as Tate was back in the day, I’d be very curious to hear what those vocal melodies would have been like had the majority not been written by DeGarmo. During the lawsuit it was made quite apparent that Tate hadn’t had much input musically. And as much as people change and whatnot, the obvious difference in sound/feel/songs after DeGarmo left lends itself to that reality, IMO.The Karmic Law is not kismet. If PL was a reaction to grunge, then it was my favorite reaction to grunge out of any dudes back then who were changing up their music a bit as a result of the death knell from the 80’s.The Karmic Law is not kismet. Behind the scenes, things were getting more dysfunctional because--from what I've read--Tate was refusing to work on Wilton's songs (that's why there aren't any of his on PL or HITNF) since Tate didn't want to do metal anymore. DeGarmo was always the more melodic writer, so he was able to write songs that Tate would agree to work up. That dynamic had already started on Empire, but it became more pronounced on PL. That, and tons of marching powder consumed by all involved..
