So Amy Lee's voice is still fantastic

I think the whole universe is sick to death of this song, but regardless - this is from last year:

    Yeesh, what a monster performance.

Saw them in 2007ish. GA at a local civic center, which was floor pretty close to the stage and it was a powerful performance. I'm rarely wowed by live vocal performances but this was a total package deal. Always have a soft spot.

She ought to peel off those other fellas and put out some cool covers albums.

...but then, she's probably swimming in pools of cash from that one song, and might not really have to work anymore

Keep Jen Majura though, since she's extremely talented.

I do like this version of Bring Me To Life

That's cool and all but if that was a dude would you be impressed? Just asking.

Yes I would. If anyone else in Evanescence has as much talent, I'm game too. Gender means jack bloody thompson in this case, and as far as I know, I haven't seen any other guitarist before her that can throw down like that, certainly haven't seen the original guy Ben Moody or the guy from Cold shred as well, though Ben Moody is a well accomplished instrumentalist so I'll give him that.

I think she already did leave and come back, iirc.

She never left. Evanescence was always her baby. She fired the original members of the band, slowly, then rebuilt for version 2.0 in the early 2010's. Then fired some of those guys, and this current iteration has been around for 2-3 years. Amy Lee has always been the Front Woman

Ah, I stand corrected. Was it the rest of the band that spun off and did their own thing then?

Rapidly approaching territory for me but I always liked her voice.

This sounds familiar to me...I think the band name was a very not so subtle reference in the album title.

Ah, quick application of the googler: We Are The Fallen

She does that every few months. She's a diva in ALL CAPS.

In fairness, she had every right to fire the band after this debacle.

I actually just read about this recently, there was some mixup with the sheet music handed to the orchestra and what key the band actually played in. Not really any band members fault....especially when he’s playing a Floyd Rose.

The problem was the orchestra was in tune to the piano, so sheet music wasn't the issue.

The moment the band jumped in is when everything fell apart. The guitar and bass were out one semitone. A good musician can recover from that, Floyd Rose or not. They can just transpose by ear and salvage the performance, especially since the song is mostly simple power chords. But they kept in the same register and staying out of tune. Sure the guitar and bass parts won't be "right" per se, but it's sure as hell better than playing out of tune, especially with a full orchestra.

There's a lot of speculation that the guitar tech got the tuning wrong or the band sabotaged Amy Lee into a terrible performance. Either way it's inexcusable and completely unprofessional.

Shame she either is truly a Diva, or that she can't find stable, professional musicians to keep up

Not gonna lie, I am a huge Evanescence/Amy Lee fan. Haven't paid attention to the drama but her voice is still something special.

Who was that guy anyway? I don't think his name rang any bells for me even when the song was new.

Bring Me To Life was actually written about me, FYI. She didn’t want me to share that, but it’s been nearly 20 years, so….

Her boyfriend at the time. As opposed to her ex, who was, you know, the guitarist in the band.

I enjoyed this record, and the last two. The one with "Call Me When You're Sober" was, well, not good.
