I’ve been on a Nevermore kick lately, after not listening to them for a few years. Bummed I never got to catch em live.Comment

Seven is a decent album, but it's nowhere near as good as Embers of a Dying World with tracks like this:

EDIT: No idea how this new forum does YouTube links.
I'll also add that I'd say their best song ever is still off their second album:

It is shocking, indeed. Sometimes people don't hear bands until half a century after they've broken up. Or centuries after the musician died.
I probably wouldn't have heard about Mors Principium Est if I hadn't been in that metal record store in 2007 at that specific time where they were playing it. I went to the register and asked "Hey, who are these guys?" and the guy said "This is Mors Principium Est's newest record" and pointed to where they were. Bought it there, listened to it like crazy, then bought their other albums within a few weeks. Random stuff like that really is how we find out about a lot of music, after all.👍 1Comment

I started listening to Sleep Token after Don (Bot) posted a 1 minute guitar cover of one of their songs. Started listening to Tesseract because I had liked Fellsilent, whose album I bought on a whim when I saw it for really cheap in a Tokyo metal record store in 2008. I've actually found some pretty sweet bands (and some "meh" ones) just by buying ones I'd never listened to before but that looked interesting in metal record stores.👍 1Comment
