Fucking love the synergy modules, got an rm100 modded to be able to do the dual channel synergy switching, and have a TLDX, Slo and Bogner Ecstacy modules in it and it sounds fuck off awesome.

Well worth it module wise, although I am totally unconvinced about the value for money of the synergy hardware (that you put the modules in) that bit is farly overpriced for what it is imho

I have a Plexi, BE/BB, Grail, UltraXL, Mr Scary, and a couple other. I'm happy with what I have, and really aren't gassing for anything else.

Ah awesome, I didn't know you got a soldano. Congrats! Did you get the 30 or 100? The Slo Synergy model looks amazing and I almost bought one too. Still might. There's a yt video out there comparing it to the old rack mount preamp and it sounds spot-on.

Yeah I sold the Mark. I get the sounds I go for out of the Triaxis anyway, and the SLO is lighter/more portable (I have that 1x12 Mesa cab for it).

I love Mark V tone but other than my Triaxis I'm pretty much done with Mesa amps. I hate how every setting other than ideal is either super flubby or just sounds like shit and the Mark is almost as annoying as the Recto in that respect. I know it's "the mesa way" to just ignore what the knobs say and use your ear for everything but after a while I just want to play guitar and not constantly be fiddling with a zillion options.

Yeah, I totally get it. I got that Mesa switcher to go between my mini Mark V and the Hot Rod 25, and all that happened was that I still just used the Hot Rod for everything except maybe super clean stuff.

Very much why I sold mine as well. I don't really find it as bad on my dual rec but I wouldn't stray too far out of the ideal range on the settings put it that way.

Not really an issue with my engl or diezels it's deffinetly more "I like these settings" than "anything other than this sounds like shit".

I was looking into the synergy stuff as well seems a great way to satisfy seasonal gas without wrecking your bank balance.

I remember reading that Mesa is onboard with creating Mesa Synergy modules. That should be interesting, in the near future.

Gotta hunt around, they still pop up from time to time. I know I see heads with modules in them pop up in the $500 range quite often I can't speak to the desktop variants

I recently got a deal on a Synergy SYN-2 with 3 modules: Steve Vai, SLO (Soldano), 1959RR Randy Rhoads. I really just wanted the Soldano module and flip the rest, but I am truly stunned at how great the 1959RR is. It has 2 modes, JTM and JCM. The JTM at higher gain is the Randy Rhoads Super Lead. The JCM side is the JCM 800 side. There are several switches on the module that also give you a ton of other sounds from these modules. Anywhere from a 2000 to a Plexi. It's really the most versatile module that I've ever played. Simply amazing.

I would have gotten into these by now if the syn1 was reasonably priced. For the same price as an *empty* syn-1 I can get an rm100 with a couple of modules and change left over for a cab

Same. I reallyreallyreally want one but they are just overpriced enough that I change my mind every time I have one in the cart.

A guy on sloclone is designing his own variant of this that's compatible with the modules on the market but with additional options for input stage /pi, power amp etc.

I should check in to see where he's got to.

They seem near but I can build 2 preamps for the cost of a single module so I always back out of it.
