It looks like a fat tuning fork, it gets hot, you have to ground it and plug it in. It turns classic rock gain into very high gain.
      That soldano hotmod clone thing.

Edit; didn't realise it was already over.

No worries! You were right, I think. I don't know if it started with Soldano though.

Yeah it was originally a soldano design with a weird single triple triode valve that was virtually impossible to get after the mid 80s.

I believe the v2 is officially licenced.

          Cool little things.

I actually designed a pcb to make these a while back but never got around to testing it.

So a few days with it and I’m still going back and forth. I will say putting a Russian LPS tube in it cleans it up a bit over the stock JJs, and I’m finding the bass control pretty useless as it really adds too much bass when it’s engaged, so I just keep it in the down position. The amp definitely gets more gain with the gain switch flipped up on the hot mod, but I’m kinda liking the tone with the gain in the classic hot mod position.

IDK, lots of testing still, esp since this is already a hot-rodded Marshall style amp and I’m taking it a step further with the hot mod attachment. The amp absolutely slays with the hot mod installed, gain and bass flipped down, gain knob on the amp at about 6, and then an SD1 out front. Super saturated and killer classic Marshall tone. I’m just trying to get the gain saturated but crisp without an OD. I can do it direct-in with a load box, but in the room you really have to crank the master to get that combination without an OD. But hey it’s a Marshall, that’s kinda how they work
