You'll love it! I bought mine last year for one reason, if I'm going to use IRs to simulate a cab and mic, I should do that before it hits my tube mic pre and compressor, not after. When I was running my old Captor, my signal chain was amp -> captor -> mic pre -> compressor -> DAW -> IRs. So I was warming and compressing the signal in the wrong place. It still sounded good, but it sounds so much better to put things in the right order, and the Captor X did it for me.
FWIW it sounds better than the Mesa CabClone IR in the Badlander as well. I can't put my finger on why, but with the same IRs I prefer the sound from the Captor X. You'll find the attenuator is better sounding on this than the original Captor too, and it makes playing a Dual Rectifier at bedroom levels much easier. Solid purchase, Chris
