  • The best Marshall metal sound I've ever heard - Euge Valovirta

I've been following this guy recently, love his YT channel and his overall attitude. He's in a couple bands, including one with Jake E formerly from Amaranthe. But this other band of his, Red Wolf, is awesome, as is his unbelivable tone he gets from a couple of JCM 800s with just a Boss SD-1 in front.

The band and awesome tone in question:

How he records it - simply, just like you or I would record at home in 2021:

This is badass. I love his lead tone.

FWIW, I have a Kemper preset that sounds spot on exactly like this.

I follow him on YT too, he seems great guy and top notch player. He is the one who gave me idea to get jcm2203

the sign of a true master is if you can make a jcm800 sound like that.

Yep, I've been working through a lot of his videos recently, especially his 2203/2555/DSL/TSL/mini head comparisons. Anybody else notice that when he says his name at the beginning, it sounds like it's been overdubbed?

That just sounds like a Finnish accent to me.

This is pretty close to what Zakk sounded like when we opened for BLS. 'Tis a glorious Marshall tone.

also had to think about Zakk immediately.

                        That tone rips.

I've been watching a lot of his videos as well... really enjoy the content and tips he shares, and his tone is fucking fantastic. I do kind of want a 2203 myself now.

I really enjoyed this one of him talking about the early In Flames stuff.

Alan yeah that was the video that got me into his channel. Unpopular opinion: I like In Flames' tone on their later albums more than their early ones. Clayman is awesome for sure, but the guitar sound on Reroute to Remain and especially Sounds of a Playground Fading are just as good if not better.
