Where did you read its delayed agan? As far as I can see on their site, they announced a delay in November and didn't give any new released date - after that the they announced in the beginning of February that they would ship at the end of March. Yesterday's development update also says it will be released at the end of this month.
Its the kind of thing that probably seems clever to the developers, but real world users will always be asking "how did I do that"? Touching the wrong thing, bringing up the wrong menu, then closing it.
For instance, to bring up stomp mode, there is a tiny hieroglyph in the upper right corner that you have to touch, next to a couple other hieroglyphs. What if you touch the wrong one? Better question, why is mode not footswitchable? You should be able to select if you want stomp mode with your feet. No one is going to bend over and touch a tiny hieroglyph to switch modes at a gig.
Another example of bad design... There are four rows, but you have to explicitly chain them together if you want a longer effect run. Its too fidgety. Apparently there are alot of routing "presets". What happens if you have a preset with one routing config, but want to change it to another. Do you have to start over?
And there are hidden swipe menus. I dont see any cues on screen that tell you how to swipe uncover menus. That will get old.
And the UI is largely modal. If you want to do one thing, the effect chain is off limits. Want to change an effect, you can no longer interact with the chain or other blocks. Look at the Boss GT and Helix.. they have separate sections for the chain and parameter adjustment.
Alot of the complexity, the different modes, is because there is a lack of decoders. The fact that the footswitch decoders are not aligned with the on screen values is bad design. Its clever yeah and saved them putting five rotary encoders under the screen, but this is a flagship, why would they skimp on that?
Add to that the cloud interface, and thats another layer of complexity. The people who designed this are patting themselves on the back yet don't realize how clunky it is. This design gets a D. If the touch interface is not responsive, then it would get an F.
I haven't been too impressed with the high gain tones on the cortex honestly. I think the best thing about the Cortex is the amp matching capabilities. Sounds very close to the original tone.
I'm eagerly awaiting the Quad Cortex (to kill the price of used Kempers)
I'm hoping this too. I'm potentially looking at replacing my axe fx standard and atomic and getting something better, kemper is one of the main contenders. I'm watching one on ebay at the mo.
I love the circus, but please, elaborate the reasons!
As far as I can see, it isn't delayed again. After November they didn't specify a release date until February, when they announced it would be released at the end of this month.

Doesn’t seem they’re delayed again as the TGP crowd is all giddy over the pics that have been posted to instagram. Doug posted a pic of a few bourbons and cigars and said he was getting ready for the release date, a bunch of quality control pics and a few shots of the units sitting in foam waiting to be shipped. Honestly, I wouldn’t have been surprised if they got (or get) delayed again and the pics were just posted in order to pad that landing by giving a little, “I know it sucks, but look how close we are!”.
Definitely the most amusing piece of gear to come out in a while. I’ve certainly never seen reactions like this over anything else and the blind allegiance to a company that has yet to release a single physical product is interesting. I roll my eyes at some of the comments Cliff from Fractal gets, but over the weekend on TGP they were discussing the size of Doug’s muscles and beefiness with child-like wonder. Straight up fucking weird.
The Karmic Law is not kismet. It is not fate but cause and effect. It is a taskmaster to the unwise; a servant to the wise.

yep, i'll never understand the borderline-cultlike reverence for this thing, when it's just another modeler. it's not gonna revolutionize the world; at the end of the day you're still just playing an 800 sim, but this one has a lot of bells and whistles! ooooooh!

Was given a mid March release projection and late March delivery, now some of the retailers are aiming to get them the end of March so an April delivery but we've seen this song and dance before.
