    Resurrecting the Beast (Soldano content)

Before making the SLO100, I had originally done a 50w head. As the SLO100 is heading out, I wanted to give this some well needed TLC. A complete redo throughout, me thinks.

What colour headshell are we thinking here? Different knobs? And yes, pictures will be uploaded, I won't forget this time or get mysteriously abducted by aliens yet again

Having just finished that amp at 2AM, I was desperate to get a clip of it. Volume on 0.0025 or something ridiculous, I think? Nothing quite like the feeling of firing up an amp you've made (for the first time)

If you are doing a full rebuild why not change it up a bit. Kt88 power amp (will push it up wattage wise)

Change the preamp a bit. Nfb defeat push pull and maybe clipper/slope toggles?

Hey it's the Killswitch version of Holy Diver! The amp sounds awesome! Are you selling these after putting them together?

Carbon fiber look would be rad too.

                        Thank you, thank you

I sure am, I'm working my way up to designing some really great stuff and thought I'd strip the SLO50 back to basics and give it the love it truly deserves.

So far, it's KT88 and some kind of Snakeskin. I'm surprised no one has gone for purple with it being a Soldano and all lol

Speaking of which, this was taken earlier on and had a huge leap. More pics to come!

I keep telling you purple isn't even the default colour on the SLO. It's red or snakeskin.

                                  Billy frickin' Blades.

Hey, everyone - how about a build as brilliantly ridiculous as a Billy Blades at some point? Drinks holder included!

It's beginning to a lot like progress! Waiting on the sockets, a different cap in the power section since it's cartoonishly tall for the amp and some other assorted goodies. Turns out I have some snakeskin tolex handy! I'll tally up the votes for this Saturday and the majority win is the deciding finish muhahaha

What kind of knobs? Chickenheads? Old Soldano ones?

A friend of mine has one of those - devastating amp with a cupholder? How do you say no?

Another reason to use a toroidal transformer in a head, gotta make room for the cupholder!

Bit of a slow day today but had to redrill most of the holes, rejig some bits around, the whole nine yards. Important question, however - what colour jewel are we thinking for the front panel light?

(edit: Original picture didn't load so I took another after getting some more bits done - looking like progress now! woooo!)

Several alien abductions later, I've something looking a lot like progress. Down the home straight to wrap this one up and cause a spot of neighbourly mayhem. The last time I turned one of these up past '2', the neighbours loved it so much that they decided to invite the police around too!

One crazy ex-girlfriend, a handful of alien abductions and catching covid twice, I return with an update! Added the preamp socket wiring, made a headshell (with tolex due to go on) and some general tidying up. It's going to be fantastic!
