NAD: You know the rules and so do I...

I bought my first tube amp. As you may guess it's a 6505. I got it and the 4x12 for a good price. It fuckin' rips and I'm super happy with it. it has that Peavey gain/tone that I'm familiar with but 100x better. I'd prefer to have the + model to have the independent eq for both channels but I don't gig so it doesn't matter too much. Just need to get me a tube screamer now.

I swapped a SD custom into my LP a while back and I think it sounds great. It's pretty bright and open which I like and not super hot. Guess I'm a PAF guy. It's so much better than the black winters that came in my rhoads. They sound like grainy garbage and I need to swap them out. I poorly played some queen so check that out if you're into disappointment.

    But yeah, JBA6505

Sounds awesome! That's what a 5150 / 6505 does - you plug it in and play and it just sounds great. Nice score!

Yeah, not having to fiddle with it is very nice. There was a roadking and 4x12 near me for a good price but I didn't want to jump into that deep end. Luckily this popped up near my buddy's wedding so he got married and I bought an amp.

                5150 Queen is Best Queen.

Grab a MXR 10-Band GEQ for the loop, too. It's a great tone-shaping tool with a ton of power to go from lean to mean.

That and get yourself tube screamer (or overdrive of preference) as a boost in the front. Also, put that "post gain" (volume) at least to 3 for that amp to come alive. Enjoy!

Yep. That's the plan. Shouldn't need anything more than that but, uh, we all know how that goes...
