Never mind peace: can you put a price on tone?

Test it, if its all good its a no brainer and well worth the little extra.

Seems like a pretty damn good deal to me if it's in good shape.

So, the Peavey TransTube 212 red stripe I was gonna go check out, didn't work out. It was super dirty and neglected looking (different knobs, a spider web inside the speaker cavity, dirt all in the Tolex, etc.) and the guy got all butt hurt when I tried to haggle a better price.

I found a super clean one for a good price, but also came across a 6505+ Combo for $200 more.

Question is: do I save the cash and go for the clean Transtube 212, or shell out the extra for the 6505+? Obviously, I'll bet the 6505+ will sound better, but is it nearly twice the price better?

Eh? Why would I want to cover any ground when I am exactly where I want to be, in the best place possible?

    EDIT:

    This is mine:

The teal stripe ones are the sound of 80s thrash personified. They rule.

Then there's the modern bandit 112 which I have no clue about.

This has made me want to build a bandit preamp now though.

Also there's the red stripe envoy & studio Pro which weren't as common or highly regarded even though they are practically the same other than power output and speaker.

Which results in them often being cheaper these days
