    Good 1u rack modeler?

Does such a thing exist? The Helix rack is 2, the Axe, same... are there any 1u space rack modelers worth buying, yet?

GSP1101 is basically the only option but for a few bucks more you can get a 2U Axe-Fx standard or ultra that blows the doors off of it.

I like the 1101 (I've had 3) but the models it in are mediocre. The effects it does have are pretty solid though and it's super easy to use. I think Rocka uses one now too.

But - I only have one open rack space.

The struggle is real. IMO just get a new rack, the jump in quality/features/everything from the 1101 to a Standard/Ultra is night and day. The 1101 is like a Honda Civic, super reliable will get you there. The Axe-Fx, even the "old" one is like a Corvette compared to it. They still sound awesome by any measure today and have a shitload of effects and I/O.

Yeah, that's probably what I'll have to do - but that's a slippery slope. Go from a 2u with one open space to a 4u with one open space to an 8u and pretty soon I have enough to buy a Vette in a rack sitting in my jam room.

I do need to get a compressor/limiter to go with my Q2...

4U is the way. I have like 3 extra 4U racks if you want one but the shipping will be a pain in the balls because they're big/heavy.

              1U Power Conditioner / 2U Processor / 1U Power Amp

Let me see if I can find/make some sort of box that won't involve UPS bending us both over with a rusty pipe.

Having open spaces isn't necessarily a bad thing, you can add perforated panels to maintain air flow and also make it look nice and not like there's a big sloppy gaping hole that you'll need to jam something into.

My open space currently has a mouth in it that keeps whispering "filllll meeeeeeee....!!!"

And, as much as I love my HX Stomp, I think having a rack mounted processor makes more sense. Yes, I know I posted just yesterday that I would never part with the Stomp, but GAS is a fickle mistress.

If you fill it with a blanking panel it might help you forget about a space that could potentially need filling

I'd second Chris' idea of an Axe-FX. Adam used to have a GSP1101 and it did sound good (especially when he put the beta firmware on it to load 3rd party IR's), but he traded it in for an Axe Standard which blew the GSP out of the water.
