    NGD: And I'm done...

Silly rack drawers taking up space. Pulled that out and filled it with two more items. A Korg DT-1000 tuner and this...

Paid far more than I want but that's the state of MP1s these days. I did get it for under the current market rate so there's that. It's an original v2.01 but someone did upgrade the battery to a replaceable type at some point. Now to program some Michael Wagener patches...

Really want an mp-1 but refuse to pay more than triple what they were only a year ago. Seen some going for £800+ recently

I want a second one to do the 3TM, I have mine modded to 3.666 so would be nice to have the 2 with the 2 main mods done to it. Been keeping an eye on eBay but yeah, going for ridiculous prices now.

Yeah, who doesn’t see this ad in the back of their brain when you mention a MP-1? I picked mine up for $500. Not a great price but below the current market. The guy had listed it first for $600 and then lowered it to $550. I waited about a week and then offered $500. He mentioned to me that he had bought it off Reverb so I found the original sold listing (my unit has an ADA Depot sticker on the top). It was sold 2 months ago and was listed for $485.

I don't know about the MP-1, but I'm ALL about that stack of 2x12's. I have a pair of 2x12's stacked, and my faux-12 is so much easier to transport

I have two of the cabs here. Just collecting dust. Been meaning to have a friend of mine recover them if we can find the exact or at least close match for the carpet. They are pretty hammered.

ADA-MP1 still holds up after all these years. Love mine.

                                  I actually have 2

I bought this one in a separate deal first because I was trying to buy the rack & foot controller in 2 separate local deals. The rack unit ad disappeared after I bought the foot switch but before I could contact the person selling the rack unit so I was stuck with a footswitch and no rack unit.

I ended up reaching out to another guy on FB Marketplace who had the complete set up for sale. That’s the one I ended up buying and why I have 2 of them. His X15 was in worse shape but he actually had the original manuals for all of it. Felt like I ended up coming out ahead after all that.

Well....shit. I'm having problems. While I did try it when I bought it, the guy didn't have an amp handy so I was playing through the headphones while talking so I didn't notice this at the time. Basically no tube voicings. They just go silent. Any ideas? Here's a quick clip of me trying to change the voicing from S.S to either tube voicing:

I pulled the tubes and visually they look fine (no evidence of burnt areas). I also tested continuity from pins 9 to 4/5 on both tubes and they were fine. Neither tube glowed after having the unit on for 5 minutes (I know this isn't a guarantee). Both tubes were "warm" but not hot or scalding hot to the touch. Only thing I could find that wasn't good were the A/B output jacks which have broken plastic housings:

                                      Back Tube:

                                      Front tube:

I've done pickup and guitar electronic swaps but this is out of my element and I have zero experience with tubes as well...

Do you have any spares to quickly swap in and test just to rule out tubes as an issue?

Also, hate to be kind of predatory, but I will buy it if it's busted

Also, check your 2 OD settings next to the master gain, those are 2 separate gain controls. If they're set to 0 then nothing will make it through.

No, I don't have any spare tubes handy but my local guitar store does have some JJ 12AXT - ECC83s I could go get. My video doesn't show this but I've reloaded the factory patches repeatedly so the patch that is loaded when I turn the unit on and strum the guitar is one of the factory patches. No sound. I've also checked the OD settings in addition to the master volume. Both are non-zero and still no sound.

Then tubes would be the next thing to check. Barring that, would probably be one of the connections to the tube board or a bad component since it only happens when switching to the tube voicing.

Which, coincidentally would be a perfect candidate for the 3 tube mod since that swaps out the whole tube board

Hmmm, also maybe a clue as to why it's screwed up, you said someone's been in there doing the battery mod... wonder if they tried one of the other mods and screwed something up? Maybe a shit solder joint or something.

What my plan of action would be is to first try new tubes, after that, check all the connections to/from the board. It just tube distortion or tube clean as well?
