Dudes that got the KPAs on the dip from QC hype lucked out. Missed on a Stage for $1200 last week and a Toaster for $1000. Gah!

I know you're kidding, but a small rant...

IMO a couple hundred bucks shouldn't be the make or break difference between buying one or not. People need to (to a point) stop making "super great awesome deal of the century" such a high priority when they buy gear. The KPA is fucking awesome. if someone wants one, they should shop around and get one. Waiting around to save a hundred bucks on something is stupid. Life is short and the Kemper kicks ass. If you want one, just get one. I honestly don't even remember what I paid for mine, it was used from the official Kemper store.

While I agree to a point, the toasters literally went from $1500 to a grand used, thanks to QC hype. That’s a lot of burritos.

I'm currently looking to buy two more, that could turn into a second hand LTD's worth of difference.

I didn't see any toasters for a grand, if so they weren't up for very long. I've been Reverb-ing almost daily for a good deal one one (hypocrisy.jpg) because I want a spare for my jam space to compliment the FM3s.

There was a white toaster $1200 obo, I think I also saw a something I think $1100+$50 shipping obo

I'm content with my FM3, only reason I keep my open for stupid prices on stuff is impulse by and being able to get my money back if I decide it's not for me. $1700 for a KPA and a $300 hit if I decide I still like my FM3 better after a week is more than I can gamble with.

As your attorney I advise you to just get both. Put the FM3 in the loop of the KPA, rule the world.

Wasn't ranting at anyone in particular, just my usual old man armchair bedroom nobody opinion. The KPA is really fantastic.

Right, but my point is that it's not enough to warrant waiting around for 6 months to a year for the perfect deal like everyone seems to do these days.

                                This we agree upon, sir.

I think there are way too many people that value the dopamine hit of "scoring the deal!"

I bought my Kemper, and have never been happier. I profiled my amps, then really never had a need for them again, even though they sit in the room. If you have an amp with your favorite settings, you can profile it, then profile every other setting you can. Then, if you need to, sell it. It brings to overall price of the Kemper down significantly. Profiling is very addictive. I have profiled my amps well over 100 times. I'm pretty sure there isn't a sound on those amps that I don't have profiled. It truly is fun profiling.

I've profiled my mark iv a few times at my favourite settings, with various options selected. My kemper sounds dead on. I don't know when I'd ever use my mesa again now. And I LOVE my mesa 😕

I have been informed that the iPad app is live. I believe I haven't heard of anyone successfully connecting an transferring to/from their KPA yet but you can at least navigate the app if you're into that kinda thing.

Correction, nobody over the WiFi in the Stage but I believe plugging the rack or toaster into your router will let you access it.

Is there any news on how it works anywhere? I've had a look but not found much. If it works through just an ethernet cable to an iOS adapter that would be great.

Current KPA endorsed solution is toaster/rack plugged into your home network via Ethernet, though obviously that's not ideal since most people don't have their router sitting conveniently next to their tower/amp and if so, why not just use your PC?

The workaround I've heard works is just using a cheap router and giving the KPA it's own network, then connect your iPad to that. Not ideal but it works and there's a lot of really small routers/wifi adapters out there.

Kemper community being the way it is, once this is 100% live, I wouldn't be surprised if the "adapter" is no bigger than the Ethernet port with an antenna coming out of it.

That seems like a faff. I only really want something to make quick edits with at rehearsals. It might be easier to just get a cheapo windows tablet and plug that into the USB port.

Couple people on the KPA forum posting Ethernet powered access points, so that looks to be a not awful solution. Don't need to lug around a full router and power supply, it's kind of the size of an SD card reader and just needs the one Cat5 to power it. With a rack or unpowered Toaster, should give you a lot of places to stick it. Pass thru so you can still power the remote is unknown.

Looks like the app is officially online, as is beta 8.5 that unlocks compatibility with the app and activates the wifi card on the stage. Sounds like most people are having success using it so far but it's obviously still early.
