    Friedman Mini-BE 30W Amp Head

The BE-MINI head combines a 30-watt power section and Dave Friedman’s famous “BE” preamp circuit. The BE-Mini has the same signature British-voiced harmonics, grind, and punch of the legendary BE amplifier’s legendary high-gain tones. The BE-MINI’s compact size, light weight and included effects loop makes the BE-MINI a killer companion whether onstage, at home or in the studio.

Obligatory: This guy is such a great player but jesus christ his picking hand has all the authority of a wet napkin. Someone get him on here so we can admonish him and get him through Bitchpicker's Anonymous.

Anyway: This sounds awesome and I want one.

That is an insanely great sounding amp. I just wish it got truly clean at the lowest-gain setting.

It's ridiculous how good solid-state stuff sounds these days.

Definitely scooping one of these up for the living room! That thing sounds fucking great!

I’ll have to grab a little 1x12. I’ve still got some WGS Retro 30’s kicking around that need a home, maybe I’ll try out an Avatar cab or something.

i came in planning to make a joke about how it'd be $1200, but that's actually a really good deal for one of those. i may just have to get one.

Literally ordered one of these about an hour ago. Saw all the videos pop up on youtube last night then searched and searched and found nothing. Woke up today and got the AMS newsletter with this in it and bam... done deal.

              Is this a BE-OD with a Class D amp?

Why the power adapter? Couldn't he have shoved that nonsense inside the case and just let us use a standard IEC cable?

sounds really good, and can be really useful for practice or for people who do small gigs.

That's really the only thing I don't like about it, that's a little silly. Bitchpicker Dude even immediately points out how light it is.

Yup, the pedal plus a class D.

my guess for the external power supply is that it means that the amp itself doesn’t have to get regulatory approval, they can just include one that’s already approved.

A coworker of mine ponied up and bought one yesterday. Perfect for a living room set up.

FFS why do i want one of these things?

Edit: if these are made under that boutique amp manufacturing brand, and it really is just a BE OD with a power amp, maybe they will do one with a VH4 pedal in a box

Probably close. Though the BE OD is voiced to go through the clean channel of an amp, so it's a little dark on its own. I've run my BE OD deluxe into Powerstage 170, which is probably the exact same power amp here as its a standard baseline model, and it didn't sound good at all. This new amp sounds voiced appropriately for that sterile-but-powerful power amp section. The pedal sounds better into a clean channel or directly into an IR loader. It comes alive with a little EQ.

At only what $100 or so more than the pedal with an improved voicing? It's a no-brainer purchase for a small amp.

How much are these selling for?

:ninja: Ah, $329. That's pretty sweet. I didn't see the price on the Friedman site yesterday.

I thought they were going to be like a grand and I was still on board. 300 bucks is a no brainer.
