  • Mesa 50th Anniversary Rectifiers

First I've heard of this was just stumbling across it on the Mesa page. No interest personally, but cool.

I remember seeing these for sale a few months ago right before mesa products completely disappeared for sale from everywhere.

That looks classy as hell. I can feel the honky, nasal mids through the pic.

I’m sure these were in the works before Gibson, but this feels very Gibson

Kind of weird that they're choosing the Dual Rec for a 50th anniversary edition rather than the Mark V, considering the Mark is a more proper descendent of the early Mesas.

Yep Stay Metal Ray had one a few months ago. His channel can be entertaining.

50th Anniversary edition of a 30 year old amp? I see Gibson are working their magic.

Knowing Gibson, they'll be launching the Jimi Hendrix Edition Dual Rec any day now.

Followed by Washburn's Dimebag Edition Axe-Fx.

Near as I can tell it's just cosmetic, if there's anything different then they don't mention it on the page.

I was literally just surprised it existed at all, really. I hadn't heard a thing. The new Multi-Watts are quite good, so I'm sure it's a great sounding amp, but neither the cosmetics nor the collectability aspect (very limited run) are that appealing to me.

jacksonplayer, I'm a little surprised too - the Rectifiers are probably the most popular Mesas, but Mark series to me is a little more core to the history and legacy of the company. Of course, it's harder to stick a gold treadplate on a Mark V.

Yeah, YouTube thumbnails have become fucking awful. I couldn't make myself click on that.

"When everything is on 10, nothing is on 10."

You can just tell, too, that the pink background was chosen not because it looks especially - or at all - good with a black and gold amp, but to make the video jump out a little MORE from the thumbnails next to it.
